Job Description

Our Regional Finance Director is a subject matter expert, strategic thinker and effective leader with a clear understanding of company's financial strategy and planning, to achieve desired outcomes. In this role, you will provide strategic and financial guidance to the Regional Vice President, Operations for Eastern Canada, to achieve financial commitments and grow the business. The role also provides leadership and support to the regional operating teams regarding all financial aspects of the business, helping to find opportunities to improve operations and results. The role interfaces with clients to review financial performance of operations and to negotiate key financial arrangements of the contract.

This role is ideally Quebec based, overseeing our business in Ottawa, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. As such, we require candidates that are fully bilingual.

Job Responsibilities

  • New Business & Rebid / Retention Proforma
    • Work with operating and business development team to develop costing and pricing for the new as well as existing business retention bids.
    • Compile cash flow and IRR analysis based on projected P&L, required capital and expected contractual terms and conditions.
  • Lead Regional Team
    • Provide support to RVP, DMs, FLMs and Office managers regarding all financial matters of day to day business including, but not limited to, work on Client Business Reviews, Financial analysis of business performance to develop remedial plan for underperforming operations.
    • Evaluate (ROI) and approve capital investment needs of the business.
  • Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Process for the Region
    • Allocation of annual targets to various districts and accounts within the region. Assist DMs and FLMs to finalize their budgets while focusing on revenue growth and productivity (food and labour cost efficiencies) opportunities.
    • Monthly projection reviews with DMs and FLMs to ensure plans are in place to achieve annual targets.
  • Bonus Plan
    • ​​​​​​​Project potential payouts to ensure adequate amount is being accrued for the actual payouts. Work with HR to calculate final bonus payments for bonus eligible employees within the region. ​​​​​​​

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent
  • Accounting designation or enrolment in a program such as CPA would be beneficial
  • 8+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis and / or corporate accounting and reporting experience.
  • Solid working experience with MS office, Oracle and Salesforce.
  • Experience with supporting operating teams, with a track record of success.
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Fluency in English; Fluency in French
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, well organized
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, able to problem solve problems
  • Ability to generate ideas, obtain buy-in and execute
  • Team player & self-motivated
