Apprentice Lift Mechanic
Job summary
Under the supervision of the Industrial Mechanic, the apprentice participates in the maintenance, inspection, improvement and repair of mountain equipment (ski lifts, snowmaking equipment, ziplines and other industrial equipment).
Roles and responsibilities
- Carry out repairs as required;
- Perform routine inspections (checking structures, electrical and hydraulic components, checking engines, etc.);
- Prepare and carry out inspections of cables, hanger brackets and pulley trains (dismantling, cleaning, assembly, motor, pump and compressor);
- Perform preventive maintenance;
- Troubleshoot lifts;
- Complete various reports and perform tests on equipment;
- Operate machinery (tracked transporter, loader, all-terrain vehicle, tractor);
- Perform voltage tests;
- Any other related task.
Qualifications
- Interest in electricity, industrial mechanics, electromechanics and welding
- Experience in a similar position or at a ski resort (an asset)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Knowledge of blueprint reading (mechanical and electrical) (an asset)
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work outdoors throughout the 4 seasons

Schedule and duration
- Permanent, full-time position;
- Availability to work a varied schedule (weekdays, evenings and holidays), including weekends during the winter period;
