The Yukon public service has a unique opportunity for recent graduates who have a post-secondary diploma or degree but lack real-world work experience. With GradCorps, you can kick-start your career while putting your passion, ideas and energy to work with the Yukon public service.

The Department of Community Services has a GradCorps opportunity for a Coordinator, Athlete Services, Venues and Logistics for the 2026 Arctic Winter Games. The 2026 Arctic Winter Games will allow the candidate to gain hands on experience in venue management, budgeting, organization, resource and time management, working with volunteers, making and developing presentations and working in a team environment.

This position will work for a one-year Term from approximately April 2025 to March 2026. The salary will be 80% of the starting salary - $65,006.

Essential Qualifications
Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. If this opportunity interests you, please submit your resume clearly indicating your:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Recreation or Sport Administration/Management is preferred, however degrees or diplomas in other areas such as Phys. Ed, Business, Public Administration and Project Management may be considered;
  • Previous multi-sport games or event experience and/or event organizing experience would be an asset (including in volunteer roles).

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion and a skill for working with all types of people in a variety of roles. This person needs to be enthusiastic with strong communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: Class 5 Yukon Drivers' License.

Job Requirements: Must be willing to travel throughout the Yukon.

NOTE: To qualify for the GradCorps program, you must:

• be a resident of Yukon or a person of Yukon First Nations ancestry*
• have graduated with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution within the past two years (2023, 2024 or 2025 grads - all requirements for graduation must be complete before internship start date)
• have little or no work experience in your field of study

*If you are a resident of Yukon who completed your studies outside of the territory, you may apply up to two years after graduation.
